Ambohibary Airport (OHB)

Ambohibary Airport is a small airfield serving Moramanga, a town in the Alaotra-Mangoro region of eastern Madagascar. Managed by Ambatovy, it mainly supports domestic flights linked to mining and business operations in the area, while also accommodating humanitarian and charter flights on request.

Located a short distance from central Moramanga along the route between Antananarivo and Toamasina, the airfield offers a convenient domestic connection point for travel into the eastern highlands and the Andasibe-Mantadia area. Its single runway and compact terminal office handle a modest number of flights, keeping operations simple and easy to navigate.

Ground access relies on the nearby RN2 road and local transport, with Moramanga town centre only a few kilometres away. From there, travelers can continue by road or rail toward Antananarivo to the west or Toamasina on the east coast.

As a small private airfield, passenger facilities are limited, and most services such as fuel, food and accommodation are found in Moramanga itself. Visitors should arrange onward transport in advance, as public transport options at the airfield are limited.
