About Almería Airport
Almería Airport is the main air gateway to the province of Almería in southeastern Andalusia, connecting the region with domestic and international destinations. Opened on 6 February 1968 at El Alquián, it has since been modernised, with a refurbished passenger terminal, a cargo terminal from 2002 and a new departures building inaugurated in 2009.
Located about 9 km east of central Almería, the airport operates through a single passenger terminal that handles both leisure and business traffic. It serves the city of Almería and surrounding destinations such as Roquetas de Mar, Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park and the coastal resorts around Mojácar.
The airport is connected to the city centre by local bus line 30, taxis, private transfers and road links, making onward travel to Almería and nearby areas relatively straightforward. Car rental is also available in the arrivals lobby.
