Ali-Sabieh Airport is a small airfield serving Ali-Sabieh, the second-largest city in Djibouti and capital of the Ali Sabieh Region. Located close to the town, it functions as a local and restricted-use landing strip rather than a commercial passenger hub.
The airfield lies approximately 1.3 km from the centre of Ali-Sabieh and about 98 km southwest of Djibouti City, near the Ethiopian border. It has a single unpaved runway, 09/27, of roughly 1,000 metres, surfaced with compacted earth and gravel, which can become impassable after heavy rain.
Ali-Sabieh Airport does not offer scheduled commercial passenger services. It is used mainly for restricted operations, including government, humanitarian and small aircraft movements, with basic security control and weather reporting but no runway lighting, refuelling or air traffic control.
Road access is provided via National Highway 5, which links Ali-Sabieh with Djibouti City and continues toward the border with Ethiopia. Travellers using the airfield generally continue by private vehicle or other road transport to the town and surrounding region.
