Tadjoura Airport (TDJ)

Tadjoura Airport is a small public aerodrome serving Tadjoura, a historic port town on the Gulf of Tadjoura in the north-central Tadjoura Region of Djibouti. It functions primarily as a local gateway for light and limited flights to and from the town and surrounding areas rather than as a large commercial hub.

The airport has a single unpaved runway of about 1,000 meters, oriented 9/27 and situated at an elevation of 75 meters. Its operational facilities are basic: there is no air traffic control tower, refueling service, ground handling or runway lighting, while security control and a windsock are among the available features.

Located about 3.6 km from the town center, the aerodrome offers short road transfers to Tadjoura and its port. Tadjoura itself is connected by ferry across the Gulf of Tadjoura to Djibouti City and by road routes through the region, making the airport a small entry point for onward travel.

Travelers should expect limited passenger amenities and simple facilities consistent with a local aerodrome. It is best suited to regional and charter-style operations, and advance confirmation with operators is recommended for check-in, baggage and flight availability.
