About Aktion National Airport
Aktion National Airport is the main airport serving Preveza and the wider Epirus and Ionian region, including the island of Lefkada. It began as a military airfield and still shares the site with Hellenic Air Force operations, while the civilian terminal is managed by Fraport Greece.
Located at Aktion, about 4 km south of Preveza and roughly 20 km from Lefkada Town, the airport handles a single passenger terminal with domestic and international flights. Traffic is strongly seasonal, with most routes operating between spring and autumn and domestic connections to Athens available year-round.
The airport is reached by road, with taxis, pre-booked private transfers, rental cars and seasonal bus links serving Preveza, Lefkada, Parga and nearby resorts. There is no rail connection, so most travellers continue by car or private transfer.
The terminal provides a café and snack bar, a small duty-free shop, ATMs, Wi-Fi and parking, making it a practical entry point for visitors heading to the beaches of Lefkada, the resort coast around Parga and the historic site of Nikopolis.
