About Trinity Palmetto Point
Trinity Palmetto Point is a small coastal parish on the southwest side of Saint Kitts, part of the twin-island nation of Saint Kitts and Nevis. It runs along a dramatic shoreline of black volcanic sand, rocky coves and sheer cliffs, with quiet villages set close to the sea just west of the capital, Basseterre.
The parish capital, Trinity, also called Palmetto Point, is centred on the historic Trinity Anglican Church. The coast is framed by two headlands, Bloody Point and Palmetto Point; Bloody Point, near the village of Stone Fort, is remembered as the site of the 1626 massacre of Kalinago people by European colonists.
Villages such as Challengers, Boyd's, Camps, Hummingbird and West Farm give the parish its settled character. Challengers is locally known as the first village on Saint Kitts founded by newly freed enslaved Africans, a reminder of the island's emancipation history.
Trinity Palmetto Point offers a quieter alternative to Basseterre, with easy access to the capital's historic centre, port and dining, as well as to island attractions such as Brimstone Hill Fortress and the beaches of the southeast peninsula. Tourism and small-scale services are the main local activities.
For travellers, the parish combines a relaxed coastal setting with a short drive to Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport and Basseterre, making it a practical base for both leisure stays and business visits to Saint Kitts.

Trinity Palmetto Point Travel Guide
Best Time to Visit
The dry season from December to April brings the most settled weather for exploring the coastline and nearby attractions. Saint Kitts is warm year-round; the June-to-November period is wetter and falls within the Atlantic hurricane season, so visitors should monitor forecasts.
How to Get Around
Most visitors use taxis, rental cars or hired drivers because the parish is spread along the west coast and local bus service is limited. Public minibuses run on the main road between Basseterre and the western villages, while rental cars offer flexibility for beaches and viewpoints.
Where to Stay
Accommodation within the parish is limited to small guesthouses and villas. Many visitors stay in Basseterre or the Frigate Bay and southeast peninsula resort areas, then make the short drive into the parish for its quieter coastline and villages.
Food & Drink
Local Kittitian food includes saltfish, goat water, Johnny cakes, roti and fresh seafood, often served at small cook shops and roadside stalls. For wider choice, Basseterre and Frigate Bay offer cafés, restaurants and beach bars within a short drive.
