About the Event

IAA MOBILITY 2027 is the world's leading platform for mobility, sustainability and technological innovation, organised by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). Under the motto "It's All About Mobility", the event brings together automakers, suppliers, technology companies, startups, infrastructure operators, energy providers, researchers and policymakers to discuss and showcase the future of transport.

The 2027 edition runs from September 7 to 12, with a Press Day on September 6, and is built around two main formats. The IAA Summit, the B2B centrepiece for industry professionals, takes place from September 7 to 10 at the Messe München exhibition centre. The IAA Open Space, aimed at the general public, runs from September 7 to 12 across downtown Munich and offers free admission.

Four strategic key themes frame the programme: Mobility, Technology, Sustainability & Resilience, and Smart Infrastructure. They cover topics such as electric and software-defined vehicles, bicycles and micromobility, public transport, mobility services, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, battery technology, circular economy, decarbonisation, charging and hydrogen infrastructure, smart cities and road safety.

The IAA Summit is complemented by the IAA Conference, an English-language decision-maker conference with more than one hundred keynotes, panel discussions and other formats, where industry leaders meet representatives from government, science and society. Professional visitors can also take part in the IAA Experience, a hands-on programme with test drives and live demonstrations of electric and connected mobility, from e-bikes and autonomous vehicles to driver assistance systems and charging infrastructure.

The IAA Open Space transforms central Munich into Germany's largest inner-city event, stretching from Marienplatz and Odeonsplatz to Königsplatz. It combines a festival atmosphere, product showrooms and test tracks, offering a family-friendly programme that lets visitors experience vehicles, technologies and concepts up close.

The event's scale makes it a central industry meeting point: the 2025 edition drew more than 500,000 visitors and around 750 exhibitors from 37 countries, with more than 350 world premieres and new products, while the 2025 Summit reported 69,000 professional visitors from 108 countries and over 3,500 accredited journalists.
