Xanxerê Airport (AXE), officially Aeroporto Municipal João Winckler, is a small regional airport serving the city of Xanxerê and the western part of Santa Catarina, Brazil. It mainly supports general aviation and air taxi operations rather than large scheduled airline traffic.
The airfield is located about 4 km from the centre of Xanxerê and has a single asphalt runway of approximately 1,147 metres. The first landing took place in 1968, and the runway was paved and inaugurated in 2008, later gaining the ability to support night operations.
As a local gateway in western Santa Catarina, the airport offers a convenient option for business and private flights. The nearby Chapecó Airport, roughly 55 km away, handles scheduled commercial services for the wider region.
The municipality is investing in modernization, including a new passenger terminal and improved perimeter fencing, with studies also underway for possible runway expansion. Travelers can reach the city by taxi, private transfer or rental car.
