Wittman Regional Airport (OSH)

Wittman Regional Airport is a county-owned public-use general aviation airport serving Oshkosh, Winnebago County and the wider Fox Valley region of Wisconsin. It is best known as the home of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, one of the largest annual aviation gatherings in the world, and becomes one of the busiest airports in the world during that event each summer. A new single-story general aviation terminal opened in 2021, replacing the former commercial passenger terminal built in 1971 and the previous general aviation terminal from 1958. The 12,500 square foot facility houses Basler Flight Service, airport administrative offices, space for a rental car operation and meeting rooms available to the public. Scheduled commercial airline service at the airport ended in 2003, so operations today focus on private, corporate, recreational and event-related flying. The airport is located about 3 km south of downtown Oshkosh at 525 West 20th Avenue. Local roads connect it to the city centre, while taxis, rental cars, private transfers and chauffeur services provide onward travel to Oshkosh and nearby communities such as Appleton and destinations around Lake Winnebago. For pilots and passengers, the terminal offers flight planning support, a pilot lounge, wireless internet, meeting space and other fixed-base operator services, making it a practical gateway for general aviation travel in the region.
