About Lakeland Airport
Lakeland Airport, also known as Noble F. Lee Memorial Field, is a public general aviation airport serving Minocqua, Woodruff and the surrounding Wisconsin Northwoods. It provides essential air access for private aircraft, business aviation and seasonal visitors to one of northern Wisconsin's most popular lake and resort regions.
The airport opened in December 1945 and is owned by the Lakeland Airport Commission, which represents the towns of Arbor Vitae, Lac du Flambeau, Minocqua and Woodruff. A single general aviation terminal and the fixed-base operator, Lakeland Aviation of Minocqua, handle fueling, parking and flight support, while two asphalt runways serve general aviation and air taxi traffic.
Located about three miles northwest of central Minocqua and Woodruff near Arbor Vitae, the airport sits just south of the Vilas County line. Most travelers continue by private car, rental car, taxi or pre-arranged transfer, with hotels, restaurants, resorts and outdoor recreation within a short drive.
ARV does not offer scheduled commercial airline service, but it remains a convenient gateway for private flyers, charter travelers and seasonal residents, with nearby regional hubs such as Rhinelander-Oneida County Airport providing additional connections.
