About the Event
Summerfest 2027 is the next edition of Milwaukee's signature summer music festival, widely recognized as "The World's Largest Music Festival." Held at Henry Maier Festival Park on the Lake Michigan lakefront, the event brings together hundreds of artists and a large, multi-generational audience for nine days of live music spanning rock, pop, country, R&B, hip-hop, reggae, alternative and more.
The 2027 festival is spread across three weekends: June 24–26, July 1–3 and July 8–10. Organizers adjusted the schedule so the event opens the final weekend of June, keeping Summerfest and Milwaukee's other cultural festivals aligned with their traditional timeframes while continuing to support the city's Juneteenth celebrations.
Programming is built around 12 stages across the 75-acre grounds. A general admission Summerfest ticket includes access to 11 ground stages featuring national touring acts, emerging artists and local performers, while the 23,000-seat American Family Insurance Amphitheater presents nightly ticketed headliner concerts. Zac Brown Band was announced as the first 2027 amphitheater headliner, performing on Friday, June 25.
Beyond the music, the festival offers food from a variety of popular Milwaukee restaurants, four shopping marketplaces with local vendors, and the Northwestern Mutual Community Park, where families can enjoy performances by magicians, jugglers, dance groups and puppeteers. The lakefront setting also makes the grounds a popular place for people-watching and exploring between sets.
Summerfest has been a Milwaukee tradition since 1968 and has historically drawn between 800,000 and 900,000 visitors annually, with the most recent edition welcoming more than 613,000 fans. The festival's Guinness World Records-certified status as "The World's Largest Music Festival" reflects its scale and its role as a major destination for both national touring artists and local talent.
