Winnemucca Municipal Airport (WMC)

Winnemucca Municipal Airport is the public general aviation airport serving Winnemucca and surrounding Humboldt County in northern Nevada. Owned by the City of Winnemucca and Humboldt County, the airport supports private, business and charter flying and is open to the public.

Located about five miles southwest of downtown Winnemucca, the airport is close to Interstate 80 and serves a region positioned roughly halfway between Salt Lake City and the San Francisco Bay Area. It has no scheduled passenger airline service, with commercial flights available at larger airports such as Reno-Tahoe International Airport.

The airport operates two asphalt runways, including a 7,000-foot runway and a 4,800-foot crosswind runway, along with aircraft parking areas and hangars. Winnemucca Air Service, the on-site fixed-base operator, provides aviation fuel, pilot and passenger lounges, Wi-Fi, restrooms, courtesy transportation, aircraft rental and flight training.

Its location near the city and Interstate 80 makes the airport a practical arrival point for pilots and private travelers visiting Winnemucca, with private transfers, chauffeur services and rental cars available for the short journey into town and onward travel through northern Nevada.
