About Warangal Airport
Warangal Airport, also known as Mamnoor Airport, is located in Mamnoor on the outskirts of Warangal in Telangana. Built during the Nizam era in 1930, it remained in service until 1981 and is currently closed to scheduled passenger flights while a major redevelopment takes place.
The airport is planned to return to passenger service with a new domestic terminal and an extended 2,500-metre runway, with flight operations targeted to begin by the end of 2027. Once operational, it is expected to improve air connectivity for Warangal and northern Telangana.
Located around 10 km from the Warangal city centre, the airport is reachable by road, with onward connections to Warangal, Hanamkonda, Kazipet and surrounding areas.
The redevelopment includes modern passenger facilities such as check-in counters, self-service kiosks, baggage handling, seating areas, child-care rooms and accessibility features, making it a practical gateway for travellers visiting the region.
