About Victoria Falls International Airport
Victoria Falls International Airport is the main international airport serving Victoria Falls and the surrounding Matabeleland North tourism region of Zimbabwe. It opened in 1966 as a regional airport and was expanded between 2013 and 2016 with a new 4,000-metre runway, a new international terminal, three aerobridges and a refurbished domestic terminal.
Located about 18 km south of Victoria Falls town, the airport is the gateway to Victoria Falls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site locally known as Mosi-oa-Tunya, and to safari destinations including Hwange National Park and Chobe National Park across the border in Botswana.
The two linked terminal buildings handle domestic and international flights, with a combined capacity of around 1.5 million passengers per year. The airport serves airlines connecting Victoria Falls to destinations in Southern Africa and beyond.
