Vermilion Regional Airport is a public-use general aviation airport serving Danville and Vermilion County in east-central Illinois. The airport opened in 1948 as Vermilion County Airport and today supports private, business, cargo and recreational flying, along with local aviation clubs and glider training.
Located about 4 miles northeast of downtown Danville, the airport offers three runways, including a 6,006-foot asphalt runway with instrument approaches and a turf runway. A full-service fixed-base operator provides fueling, hangar rentals and support for visiting aircraft.
The airport sits off Bowman Avenue with direct road access to Danville and surrounding communities. Ground transportation is typically arranged by private car, taxi, courtesy car or pre-booked transfer, since scheduled commercial passenger services do not operate from the airport.
