Union Island International Airport is the main air gateway for Union Island and the southern Grenadines in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Opened in 1994, the airport is a compact facility serving inter-island and regional flights that connect visitors to this remote part of the Caribbean.
The airport has a single asphalt runway, designated 08/26, measuring about 752 metres, and a small terminal building with waiting and processing areas for check-in, security, immigration, customs and baggage reclaim. Because of the short runway, services are typically operated with short takeoff and landing aircraft.
Located close to Clifton, the island's main settlement, the airport is only a short drive from hotels, guesthouses and the harbour. Taxis and rental vehicles serve the island, and many travellers continue by boat to nearby islands such as Mayreau, Palm Island and the Tobago Cays.
