About Ulusaba Airport
Ulusaba's private airstrip is located within Ulusaba Private Game Reserve in the western Sabi Sand Nature Reserve, near Kruger National Park in South Africa's Mpumalanga province. It serves mainly guests travelling to and from the reserve's lodges by light aircraft.
The airstrip sits inside the Sabi Sand Nature Reserve, close to the Kruger National Park boundary. It is used for scheduled light-aircraft shuttle flights from Johannesburg's O.R. Tambo International Airport, with a flight time of around one hour and 20 minutes, as well as private charters from regional airports such as Kruger Mpumalanga International and Skukuza.
By road, the airstrip is reached through the reserve's Newington Gate; the nearest town, Hazyview, is about 61 km away. Road transfers are also available from O.R. Tambo International, Kruger Mpumalanga International, Skukuza and Hoedspruit, with travel times varying by route.
Facilities at the airstrip are intentionally simple and support a private safari arrival experience. Guests are met by lodge staff and transferred by game-viewing vehicle to Ulusaba's lodges, while full dining, lounge and hospitality services are provided at the reserve.
