About Ubatuba Gastão Madeira State Airport
Ubatuba Gastão Madeira State Airport is a small regional airport serving Ubatuba and the northern coast of São Paulo state. It mainly supports general and executive aviation, private flights and leisure travel to the beaches and coastal towns of the litoral norte.
Located on Avenida Guarani, about 1 km from central Ubatuba, the airport has a single asphalt runway of 940 metres, a compact passenger terminal, hangars, a fuel station and a skydiving school. The state government officially named the airport Gastão Madeira in 1980, and it has been operated by Rede Voa under the state airport concession programme.
Because the airport sits close to downtown, the journey to Ubatuba's hotels, beaches and surrounding areas is short by taxi, private transfer or rental car, and road links connect it to nearby coastal destinations.
The airport does not currently operate scheduled commercial airline services, but its terminal and executive aviation facilities support private, charter and leisure traffic, contributing to tourism along the northern coast of São Paulo.
