Tydeo Larre Borges International Airport serves Paysandú, the capital of Paysandú Department in western Uruguay, near the country's border with Argentina. The airport is named after Uruguayan aviator Tydeo Larre Borges.
The airport was modernized as part of Uruguay's National System of International Airports, with a new 650 m² passenger terminal inaugurated in December 2024. Works led by Aeropuertos Uruguay included resurfacing the runway, a new apron, LED lighting, a fuel plant, a weather station, CCTV and a fire station.
Located about 6 km south of central Paysandú, the airport is reached by road, with taxis and private transfers providing the main connections to the city. It currently supports general aviation and regional operations rather than regular scheduled passenger services, while local authorities continue working to attract commercial routes.
The compact terminal brings modern passenger facilities, security, migration and customs areas, and improved infrastructure that positions the airport as a gateway for business and tourism in western Uruguay, including nearby Salto and the region's thermal resorts.
