About Tosontsengel Airport
Tosontsengel Airport serves the town of Tosontsengel and the wider Zavkhan Province in western Mongolia, providing a small but important domestic link from this remote region to the national network.
The airport is located about 2 km from the town centre in a high mountain valley at an elevation of approximately 1,700 metres. Its modest infrastructure includes a single runway of around 2,400 metres and one compact passenger terminal with basic check-in, waiting and arrival areas.
Local taxis and arranged vehicles cover the short distance to Tosontsengel in just a few minutes, while longer road journeys continue to Uliastai and other settlements across Zavkhan Province.
Because it is a small regional facility, passenger services are limited and flight options focus on domestic connections. Travelers should plan onward transport and supplies in advance, especially when continuing into remote parts of the province.
