About Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport
Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport is the main international airport serving Tangier and the wider northern Morocco region. Named after the 14th-century traveller Ibn Battuta, who was born in the city, it connects travellers to domestic destinations and a growing network of European routes.
The modern terminal complex opened in 2008 and has since been expanded, with separate arrivals and departure areas serving both international and domestic flights. The compact layout makes check-in, security, arrivals and onward connections relatively quick to navigate.
Located about 15 km southwest of central Tangier, the airport is reached by the N1 road, with taxis, an airport bus, private transfers and car rental available for the journey into the city and surrounding areas.
Passengers can use cafés, restaurants, duty-free and retail shops, a business class lounge, Wi-Fi and other services before continuing to the medina, the northern coast or destinations further afield such as Asilah and Chefchaouen.
