Sønderborg Airport is the main airport serving Sønderborg and the island of Als in the South Jutland region of Denmark. It is located on the Kær peninsula, about 7 km from Sønderborg city centre and close to Augustenborg Fjord.
The airport was built on the Kær peninsula from 1968 and officially opened for scheduled flights in 1969. The runway was later extended to 1,797 metres in 2000, and in March 2026 the airport inaugurated the first digital air traffic control tower in the Danish Realm.
Sønderborg operates domestic flights to Copenhagen with Alsie Express, seasonal services to Bornholm, and direct charter departures to European destinations. It functions as a convenient regional gateway for both leisure and business travellers in southern Denmark.
