Skive Airport (SQW)

Skive Airport is a small regional airfield serving Skive and the wider Central Jutland area, used mainly for private, business and general aviation rather than scheduled commercial traffic. The airfield was built after the decision in 1975 to close the older Skive airfield on defence land, and the present site east of Skive was inaugurated in 1975.

Located about 9 km east of central Skive, near Højslev, the airport operates as a VFR self-service airfield with a single 1,200-metre asphalt runway (14/32), runway lighting and one compact terminal building. It supports private pilots, flying clubs, gliding, parachuting and business aircraft, with AVGAS refuelling, aircraft parking and limited hangar space.

The airport is reached by road from Skive, and the drive to the town centre normally takes about 10–15 minutes by car. Taxis, pre-booked private transfers and rental cars are the main onward travel options, since the airfield is not served by regular public transport directly at the terminal.

Although facilities are intentionally modest for a small airfield, the terminal building and nearby clubhouse provide basic amenities for pilots and passengers. Customs and immigration clearance for international flights can be arranged on prior notice, making the airport a practical entry point for private flights into the Limfjord region.
