About Sindhudurg Airport
Sindhudurg Airport is a greenfield domestic airport located at Chipi-Parule in Vengurla taluka, Sindhudurg district, Maharashtra. Also known as Chipi Airport, its terminal building was inaugurated in March 2019 and the first scheduled commercial flight to Mumbai was flagged off in October 2021. The airport is operated by IRB Sindhudurg Airport Pvt. Ltd.
Situated about 21 km from Malvan and roughly 17 km west of Kudal, the airport serves the Konkan coastal region and nearby towns such as Tarkarli, Vengurla and Sawantwadi. It has a single passenger terminal with a peak capacity of around 400 passengers per hour and a 2,500-metre runway suitable for Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 aircraft.
Travellers can continue from the airport by taxi, private transfer, rental car or group transport to beach destinations, hotels and other locations across the district. Road connections link the airport to the Mumbai-Goa corridor and surrounding coastal areas.
