Silchar Airport is the main domestic airport serving Silchar and the Barak Valley in southern Assam. Built in 1944 as RAF Station Kumbhirgram, it was later transferred to the Royal Indian Air Force and now operates as a civil enclave within Kumbhirgram Air Force Station.
Located at Kumbhirgram, about 22 km from central Silchar, the airport connects the region with domestic destinations across India and serves both leisure and business travelers. Its single domestic terminal can handle around 300 passengers at a time.
