Serafin Enoss Bertaso Airport is the main regional airport serving Chapecó, a city in western Santa Catarina, and the wider Oeste Catarinense region, which also draws travellers from parts of southwestern Paraná and northwestern Rio Grande do Sul. Opened in 1978, it has grown into one of the busiest airports in the interior of Brazil and the third busiest in Santa Catarina by passenger volume.
The airport is operated by concessionaire Voe Xap, part of the Socicam Group, under a 30-year concession signed in December 2020. A major reconstruction completed in 2022 expanded the passenger terminal from 1,896 m² to 2,800 m², adding nine airline check-in counters, a 900 m² boarding area with four aircraft access gates and 180 seats, a VIP lounge, and a dedicated arrivals hall with a baggage carousel.
Domestic services are operated by Azul, Gol and LATAM, connecting Chapecó with São Paulo, Florianópolis, Navegantes, Porto Alegre and Cuiabá. The airport has a 2,063-metre asphalt runway and operates 24 hours a day.
Located about 9 km from the centre of Chapecó, the airport is reached by taxi, local bus, rental car, private transfer and road links, making it convenient for travellers continuing to the city and the surrounding region.
