About Satna Airport
Satna Airport is a domestic airport serving Satna, a major city in the northeastern part of Madhya Pradesh, India. It was developed by the Airports Authority of India under the UDAN regional connectivity scheme and was inaugurated on 31 May 2025.
The airport has a compact passenger terminal of about 768 square metres, designed to handle around 50 passengers during peak hours and up to 2.5 lakh passengers annually. Facilities include a recarpeted runway of about 1,200 metres, parking bays for Dornier-228 aircraft, an air traffic control tower and a fire station, along with energy-efficient LED lighting, solar streetlights and a treated water-reuse system.
Satna Airport is located approximately 3.9 km east of Satna Railway station and about 5 km from central Satna, making it a short road journey from the city. The airport is intended to improve air connectivity for the Bundelkhand and Baghelkhand regions and to support nearby cultural and religious destinations such as Chitrakoot and Maihar.
