About Natal International Airport
Governador Aluízio Alves International Airport is the main international airport serving Natal and the state of Rio Grande do Norte. Opened on 31 May 2014, it replaced the former Augusto Severo Airport as the region's principal passenger gateway.
Located in São Gonçalo do Amarante, approximately 25 km from downtown Natal, the airport serves domestic flights to major Brazilian cities as well as international connections, including TAP Air Portugal's service to Lisbon.
The airport operates a single modern passenger terminal with around 42 check-in counters, self-service kiosks and six boarding bridges, supported by restaurants, shops, currency exchange, ATMs, free Wi-Fi, parking and accessibility services.
Travelers can reach Natal, Ponta Negra and nearby areas by taxi, app-based rides, buses, private transfers or rental cars. Ponta Negra, the city's main beach and hotel district, lies roughly 40 km from the terminal.
