Santa Magalhães Airport is the main air gateway to Serra Talhada, a municipality in the Sertão do Pajeú region of Pernambuco. It supports regional connectivity and serves travellers moving between this part of northeastern Brazil's interior and larger hubs.
The airport resumed scheduled commercial services in 2017, when regional airline operations began connecting Serra Talhada with Recife. It has a single asphalt runway of about 1,800 metres and a compact passenger terminal, with Azul Conecta currently operating regional flights.
Located roughly 18 km from downtown Serra Talhada, the airport is reached mainly by taxi, private transfer, rental car or chauffeur service along the access roads.
Facilities are modest and geared to regional travel, with parking, check-in and baggage areas available in the terminal. Improvement works have targeted the runway, apron, vehicle parking and terminal capacity for future operations.
