San Miguel Airport (NMG)

San Miguel Airport (IATA: NMG, ICAO: MPMI) is a small public airport serving San Miguel, a town on Isla del Rey, the largest island in Panama's Pearl Islands. It supports domestic and light-aircraft traffic connecting the island with Panama City and other parts of the archipelago.

The airport sits just east of San Miguel on the northern side of Isla del Rey and has a single concrete runway of about 580 metres. Approaches and departures from the northeast pass over the water.

Because it is a small island airfield, passenger facilities are basic and flights are generally operated by small aircraft or charter services. Travelers typically combine a flight with onward boat or road connections to continue to towns and islands across the Pearl Islands.

The airport lies roughly 84 km from Panama City by air, or about 60 nautical miles by sea. The capital can be reached in around 20 minutes by small aircraft or in roughly 1.5–2.5 hours by boat, making the airfield a practical link between the islands and the mainland.
