About Rotterdam The Hague Airport
Rotterdam The Hague Airport is the main airport serving the Rotterdam–The Hague area and the wider South Holland region. Opened in 1956 as Zestienhoven, the airport has grown into a compact, modern gateway for leisure and business travellers, with the current name adopted in 2010. Located about 8 km north of central Rotterdam, the airport handles a range of European domestic and international flights. Its single passenger terminal keeps arrivals, departures, check-in, security and baggage reclaim close together, making it easy to move through the airport. Public transport links include RET bus 33 and RandstadRail metro line E, which connect the airport with Rotterdam Central Station and The Hague Central Station. Taxis, private transfers, car hire and Kiss & Ride areas are also available directly outside the terminal. With restaurants, cafés, shops, a panoramic terrace and practical passenger services, the airport functions as a convenient regional gateway for visitors travelling to Rotterdam, The Hague and nearby destinations.
