Rodelillo Airport (VAP)

Rodelillo Airport (IATA: VAP, ICAO: SCRD) is a small public aerodrome serving Valparaíso and the central Pacific coast of Chile. Operated by the Club Aéreo de Valparaíso y Viña del Mar, it mainly supports general aviation, flying clubs, training flights and aerial work rather than scheduled commercial passenger services.

The airfield sits about 6 km east of central Valparaíso in the Valparaíso Region, at an elevation of 335 m (1,100 ft). It has a single asphalt runway (01/19) measuring 850 m by 20 m, with apron areas used by general aviation aircraft, aero clubs and the CONAF forestry service. Operations are VFR and take place during daylight hours, with AFIS air traffic information provided by Chile's DGAC on 126.7 MHz.

Although it is not an airport of entry and has no scheduled airline traffic, Rodelillo provides useful access for private pilots, charter flights and emergency or aerial work in the Valparaíso–Viña del Mar area. Ground access to the city is by road, with taxis and private transfers the most practical options for reaching central Valparaíso, Viña del Mar and nearby coastal destinations.

The airfield offers basic aviation facilities, including AVGAS refuelling and aero club premises, while most passenger services and amenities are found in Valparaíso and Viña del Mar a short drive away.
