About Rhinelander–Oneida County Airport
Rhinelander–Oneida County Airport is a public-use airport serving Rhinelander, Oneida County and the wider Northwoods region of northern Wisconsin. Opened in May 1944, the airport is owned by the City of Rhinelander and Oneida County and also supports general aviation, air freight, military and medical flights.
Located about 3 km southwest of downtown Rhinelander, the airport provides year-round commercial service through Delta Connection to Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport, with seasonal summer United Express service to Chicago O'Hare International Airport.
The current passenger terminal was completed in 1979, replacing a much smaller earlier building. Its single-terminal layout places check-in counters, security screening, baggage claim and rental car desks close together for a straightforward passenger experience.
By road, the airport is a short drive from Rhinelander and offers access to nearby Northwoods destinations such as Eagle River, Minocqua and Tomahawk. Taxis, private transfers, rental cars and group transportation are available for onward travel across northern Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
