About Ratnagiri Airport
Ratnagiri Airport is a small public airport serving Ratnagiri and the Konkan region of Maharashtra. It is located in Mirjole, about 5 km from the city centre, and functions as a convenient domestic air link on the western coast of India.
The airport began as a small airstrip in 1973 and later hosted Vayudoot flights before serving as an Indian Coast Guard air station from 2011. The runway has been extended to 1,800 metres and a new passenger terminal has been developed to support domestic services.
Travellers can reach the city and nearby coastal destinations by taxi, auto-rickshaw or private transfer. Ratnagiri railway station and major road links also support onward travel within the district.
