About Raja Bhoj International Airport
Raja Bhoj International Airport is the main airport serving Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. Named after the 10th-century Paramara king Raja Bhoj, it is the second busiest airport in the state after Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport in Indore and links the city with major domestic destinations.
The present integrated terminal was inaugurated on 28 June 2011 and is built over an area of about 26,936 square metres. It brings check-in, security, arrivals and passenger facilities together in a single building, and was notified as a customs airport in 2024 to support international operations.
Located in the Gandhi Nagar area, about 15 km from Bhopal city centre, the airport is reached by taxis, app-based cabs, private transfers and road links to the city and nearby areas.
