About Quad Cities International Airport
Quad Cities International Airport is the primary commercial airport serving the Quad Cities region, a bi-state metropolitan area that includes Moline and Rock Island in Illinois and Davenport and Bettendorf in Iowa. The airport traces its history to Franing Field, where the first airplane landed in 1919, and the modern passenger terminal was completed in 1985 before being expanded in 2001.
Located about three miles south of downtown Moline, MLI handles passenger flights operated by Allegiant, American Eagle, Delta Connection and United Express. Its single terminal connects travelers to major hubs and leisure destinations, including Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Las Vegas, Minneapolis-Saint Paul and several Florida cities.
The airport is reached by car via Interstate 280 and surrounding roads, and MetroLINK Route 20 provides public bus service to downtown Moline. Taxis, rideshare services, rental cars and private transfers are also available for onward travel across the Illinois-Iowa Quad Cities area.
