Puerto Armuelles Airport (AML) is a small regional airport in the Barú district of Panama's western Chiriquí Province. It serves the coastal town of Puerto Armuelles and the surrounding agricultural and coastal area close to the border with Costa Rica.
Historically, the airfield was used by banana companies such as Chiriquí Land Company and the Puerto Armuelles cooperative, but it later fell out of regular use. Local authorities and Panama's Civil Aviation Authority have since studied plans to rehabilitate the runway and reactivate the airport for regional and logistics traffic.
The airport has a single asphalt runway and a compact terminal, and it sits about 2 km from the center of Puerto Armuelles. For scheduled commercial flights, the nearest major gateway is Enrique Malek International Airport in David, roughly 50 km away by road.
Because of its small size, passengers using the airport generally rely on local taxis, private transfers or pre-arranged vehicles to continue into town or toward David. The surrounding region is known for Pacific beaches, agriculture and its location near the Panamanian–Costa Rican border, making the airport a potential access point for the area as redevelopment progresses.
