About Pretoria Central Heliport
Pretoria Central Heliport is a dedicated helicopter landing facility serving Pretoria and the surrounding Gauteng region. It supports general aviation, charter and helicopter operations rather than scheduled commercial flights, and functions as a convenient access point for the city's northern areas.
The heliport sits adjacent to Wonderboom Airport in the north of Pretoria and is about 10 km from the city centre. It provides fueling services for helicopter traffic and has a history linked to early helicopter air services in South Africa, including scheduled helicopter flights between Pretoria and Johannesburg from 1977.
The facility is reached by road and offers a base for private and charter helicopter travel, with onward connections to Pretoria and the wider region by car, taxi or pre-arranged transfer.
Although passenger amenities at the heliport are limited, its location near the city and adjacent to Wonderboom Airport makes it a practical entry point for helicopter travellers visiting Pretoria.
