About Porto Nacional Airport
Porto Nacional Airport is a small regional airport serving Porto Nacional, in the state of Tocantins, Brazil. It is the first airport built in the state, inaugurated in 1940, and has long supported regional aviation in central Brazil.
The airport is located about 2 km from downtown Porto Nacional and provides convenient access to the city and to Palmas, the state capital, which lies roughly 60 km to the north. Its single asphalt runway, 05/23, is 1,700 m long and serves general aviation, private charter, and corporate operations.
Historically, the airport welcomed scheduled services from Brazilian carriers such as Varig, Cruzeiro do Sul, Panair do Brasil, and VASP. Today it mainly handles general and business aviation, with an aero club based on site.
