About Ponta Grossa Airport
Ponta Grossa Airport (PGZ) serves Ponta Grossa, a city in the Campos Gerais region of Paraná in southern Brazil. Originally opened in 1949 with a dirt runway, the airport is also known as Sant'Ana Airport and was named after Commander Antônio Amilton Beraldo.
The airport received its first commercial flight in 1963 and later offered regular services to São Paulo and other cities in Paraná. After a period limited to general aviation, the passenger terminal and runway were renovated, and commercial flights returned in 2016 with regional connections such as Campinas operated by Azul.
Located about 10 km south of downtown Ponta Grossa, the airport is reached by road and lies close to the Ponta Grossa–Palmeira highway. Travelers can continue to the city centre, hotels and nearby towns such as Castro and Carambeí by taxi, private transfer, rental car or app-based ride services.
With a single compact terminal, the airport keeps check-in, security, baggage claim and ground transport in close proximity, making it a convenient regional gateway for business and leisure travel to Ponta Grossa and the surrounding Campos Gerais area.
