Pô Airport (PUP)

Pô Airport (PUP) is a small public-use airport serving the town of Pô in the Nahouri Province of southern Burkina Faso. The airfield acts as a local access point for the Centre-Sud region, supporting general aviation, charter flights, government missions and regional air traffic rather than large-scale scheduled commercial operations.

Located northwest of Pô and close to the border with Ghana, the airport provides access to the southern part of the country and several notable destinations. It lies around 140 km south of the capital Ouagadougou, and is a practical entry point for visits to Tiébélé with its painted Kassena houses, the Nazinga Game Ranch and Kaboré Tambi National Park.

The airport has a single unpaved runway and modest passenger facilities, with a simple waiting area and administrative space instead of a large terminal building. On-site services such as shops, restaurants and lounges are limited, so visitors normally arrange food, cash and onward transport in Pô town.

Ground connections to central Pô are short and usually made by private vehicle or local moto-taxi. For longer journeys, most travellers reach the area by road from Ouagadougou, with private transfers, chauffeur services and rental cars offering flexible options for continuing to nearby towns and attractions.
