Pisa International Airport is the main airport serving the city of Pisa and one of the busiest gateways to Tuscany. It is located close to central Pisa and provides convenient access not only to the city itself but also to Florence, Lucca, Viareggio, Livorno, and the Versilia coast.
The passenger terminal opened in 1966 and has been modernized several times. Today the airport operates a single, compact terminal building with arrivals on the ground floor and departures on the first floor, plus Schengen and non-Schengen areas.
The airport lies about 1–2 km from Pisa city centre, making it one of the closest airports to a major Italian city. The PisaMover connects the terminal with Pisa Centrale railway station in around five minutes, while buses, taxis, private transfers, and rental cars provide further onward travel options.
