Venice Marco Polo Airport is the main international airport serving Venice and the Veneto region. Opened in 1961, it became the leading airport in north-eastern Italy, and its current terminal complex was completed in 2002.
Located in Tessera, about 13 km from the historic centre of Venice, the airport handles domestic and international flights, including Schengen and non-Schengen services, through a single passenger terminal organised across three levels.
