Brescia Gabriele d'Annunzio Airport (VBS)

Brescia Gabriele d'Annunzio Airport, also known as Brescia-Montichiari Airport, serves the city of Brescia and the wider province of Brescia in Lombardy, northern Italy. Although it is today best known as a cargo and logistics hub, the airport also handles private aviation and occasional charter passenger flights.

The site has deep aviation roots: it hosted Italy's first international air show in September 1909, with Wilbur Wright among the participants, and was later used for military purposes. The current civil passenger terminal was built in the late 1990s and opened in 1999, when scheduled low-cost passenger services briefly operated from the airport.

Located in the municipality of Montichiari, about 20 km southeast of Brescia, the airport is close to the A4 motorway and the Montichiari Exhibition Centre. It provides easy road access to Brescia, Lake Garda resorts such as Sirmione and Desenzano, and onward routes toward Verona, Milan and Bergamo.

With a single compact terminal and low passenger traffic, the airport offers a quiet, easy-to-navigate experience. Basic facilities, parking and ground transport are available, making it a convenient gateway for private and charter travellers visiting the Brescia area and southern Lake Garda.
