About Marche Airport
Marche Airport, also known as Ancona Falconara Airport “Raffaello Sanzio”, is the main air gateway to the Marche region of central Italy. It serves the city of Ancona and supports both domestic and international travel, with connections to Italian cities and several European destinations.
Located in Falconara Marittima, about 12 km from central Ancona, the airport has a long history: the current civil terminal near Castelferretti opened in 1981 and was named after the Renaissance painter Raffaello Sanzio. Its single passenger terminal is compact and easy to navigate, with dedicated departure and arrival areas.
The airport is connected to the surrounding region by road, the Aerobus Raffaello shuttle to Ancona and Falconara Marittima, taxis, car rental and the nearby Castelferretti railway station, which links to Ancona Centrale and other destinations.
