About Pichoy Airport
Pichoy Airport is the main air gateway serving Valdivia and the Los Ríos Region in southern Chile. It is located in the commune of Mariquina, about 32 kilometres northeast of central Valdivia, and primarily handles domestic passenger flights.
The airport began operating in 1966 and is administered by Chile's Directorate General of Civil Aviation. It has a single passenger terminal and a 2,100-metre runway, with airlines such as LATAM, Sky Airline and JetSMART providing connections, particularly on the Valdivia–Santiago route.
Passengers can reach Valdivia by taxi, private transfer, shared transfer, rental car or bus along Route T-206. Travel times vary with traffic, and the airport also serves as a practical entry point for exploring the rivers, coast and lake areas of the surrounding region.
A terminal modernization project is expanding the passenger building and adding facilities such as additional boarding bridges, improved baggage systems and more parking, while the current terminal continues to offer basic services for arrivals and departures.
