Júlio Belém Airport is the main airport serving Parintins, an island city in the state of Amazonas, Brazil. Opened on 20 September 1982, it replaced an older facility located closer to the city centre in the Palmares neighbourhood and was named after Júlio Furtado Belém, a local politician.
The airport operates a single compact passenger terminal and a 1,800-metre asphalt runway, handling regional domestic flights, primarily to Manaus, as well as charter operations. It plays an especially important role during the Parintins Folklore Festival, when traffic increases sharply with festival visitors and charter flights.
Located about 5 km from the city centre, the airport is easily reached by taxi, motorcycle taxi or pre-arranged private transfer, with the journey typically taking 10 to 15 minutes depending on traffic.
