Parasi Airport is a small domestic airstrip on Small Malaita, serving the Parasi community and surrounding settlements in the southern part of Malaita Province, Solomon Islands. It provides a lifeline air link between this remote coastal area and the capital, Honiara.
The airfield was closed for several years because of a long-running land dispute and reopened in 2018 after the government reached an agreement with landowner groups. Today it handles domestic flights operated by Solomon Airlines, typically using small DHC-6 Twin Otter aircraft on the roughly 40-minute route from Honiara.
The airport has a single coral-surfaced runway and a basic passenger shelter, reflecting its role as a rural community airfield rather than a commercial hub. Auki, the provincial capital, lies about 125 km to the northwest, and many onward journeys from Parasi continue by boat or pre-arranged road transfer.
Facilities at the airport are minimal, so visitors are advised to bring essentials and arrange onward transport in advance. Despite its simplicity, Parasi Airport remains an important connection point for residents of Small Malaita and nearby areas.
