About Palma de Mallorca Airport

Son Sant Joan Airport is the main international airport serving Palma de Mallorca and the wider Balearic Islands. Opened in 1960, it has grown into one of Spain's busiest airports and a key Mediterranean gateway, linking the island with major European cities and mainland Spain.

Located around 8 km east of central Palma, the airport is organised as a single passenger terminal building with four boarding modules, A, B, C and D, which handle Schengen, non-Schengen, domestic and regional traffic. The terminal is arranged over levels 0, 2 and 4, with check-in and security on level 2 and arrivals on level 0.

The airport is connected to Palma by EMT bus routes A1 and A2, intercity Aerotib buses, taxis, private transfers and car rental, making it easy to reach the city centre and holiday resorts across the island.

With modern passenger facilities including shops, dining, VIP lounges and accessibility services, the airport serves as the main point of arrival for visitors heading to destinations throughout Mallorca.
