Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport is the main airport serving northeastern Sardinia and the Costa Smeralda coastline. The airport's origins go back to an early military airfield, while the current airport was inaugurated in 1974 and expanded in 2004 to meet growing demand. It is located about 4 km from central Olbia and operates a main passenger terminal, Terminal T1, together with Terminal T2 for charter check-in and baggage handling.
